Multi Screen Media (MSM), the official broadcaster of Indian Premier League (IPL), will broadcast the league in multiple regional-language feeds.
MSM has apparently taken cue from its competitor Star India which is broadcasting the on-going ICC Cricket World Cup in six languages viz English, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali. The eighth series of IPL league will kick start on 8 April.
The IPL will be aired on Bengali-language channel, Sony Aath along with an audio feed in Tamil and Telugu. It will aired on Hindi movie channel, Sony Max and on Sony Six in English feed.
“We are looking at three regional feeds for IPL this year. We will have a Bengali feed on Sony Aath and an audio feed in Tamil on Sony Six. We are also looking at a Telugu audio feed on Sony Six,” said Neeraj Vyas, executive vice president of MSM and business head of Sony Max, Max2 and Sony Mix.
