Movistar TV becomes the official Lima 2019 Pan-American Games pay TV broadcaster

Movistar TV will officially broadcast the Pan-American Games 2019, to take place in Lima, Peru. The agreement ran by the Special Project XVIII Lima 2019 Pan-American Games and Parapan American Games Preparation and Development, and Media Networks Latin America S.A.C. grants Movistar TV the authorization to  release all the disciplines, exclusive content reproduction and the advertising promotion of the sporting event.

Movistar TV’s programming grid  will have the exclusive channel ‘Lima 2019’ enabled, which can be watched on channels 19 (SD) and 719 (HD), and will show Peruvian athletes participations in the event. The offer also includes live and deferred broadcasts 24 hours a day, repetitions and best content summaries of each competition.

Luis Acuña, Movistar’s Residential Marketing Director, said that his company ‘is committed with sports’ and, that way, is ‘very pleased to have ran this agreement, which will show the world not only Peruvian athletes level, but Lima’s Games organizational capacity’. In addition, Carlos Neuahus, Pan American Games Organizing Committee president, defined the agreement as ‘a strategic alliance with a leading cable TV company, which will spread our athletes effort and show the new headquarters that will be the legacy for the country’.

Pan-American Games Lima 2019 will be inaugurated on July 26th, in a ceremony that will take place at the National Stadium. The event will bring together 6,680 athletes from 41 countries across the Americas.
