Movistar reinforces its content strategy with simultaneous premiere in Latam and Spain

“Arde Madrid” will become the first Movistar+ original series to be premiered simultaneously in Spain and Latin America, reaching a potential audience of 100 million people, the company said in a release. It will be available starting on November 8 for clients in 11 countries.
In Latin America, Telefónica will air the series on Movistar Series, the new channel launched in February. Until now, the original Movistar+ series have been offered after its premiere in Spain.
Colombia, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Panama, Guatemala and Nicaragua will have access to the complete season on the on-demand service, while in Argentina, where Telefónica recently launched pay TV, the series will be available on the linear channel.
“Arde Madrid” was created by Paco León and Anna R. Costa. It is the first pay TV series shot in black and white. The first season features eight episodes of 25 minutes length.
The story is set in Madrid in 1961 during Franco’s dictatorship. Ana Mari (Inma Cuesta) is commissioned to go to work as a maid at Ava Gardner’s house (Debi Mazar) with the intention of spying on her. To do the job, she must pretend that she’s married to Manolo (Paco León), a hustler who will become he chauffeur for the American actress.
