MIB licensed six new channels on Republic TV

The Indian Ministry of information and Broadcasting allowed licensed content to be air on six televisions channels on is Republic TV owned by ARG Outlier media private limited, the licence was for English and Hindi languages only.

Out of the six granted licences only two are news channels while the other four are entertainment. Bangla Entertainment Sony Picture Network subsidiaries received a licence for bangla as well as other Indian languages

Turner international got a downlinking license in order to launch Cartoon Network HD which they already have in SD.

The total number of legal satellite TV channels in India   is now at 888 with 496 non-news and 392 news dedicated channels.
