The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting in India has granted Fastway Media Cable Network from Ludhiana, with a provisional Pan-India multi-system operator’s (MSO) licence. The cable operator also holds the temporary MSO licence for digital addressable system (DAS) Phases II, III and IV.
The ministry also granted recent provisional licences to MSOs last month. With this recent development, the amount of provisional registrations until last month climbed up to 711, among which Fastway. The company, is a private, non-governmental company providing digital cable TV services in Northern India and is an association between Digicable Network India and Gurdeep Singh. Areas which benefit from the services of Fastway are Haryana, Punjab, the Union Territory of Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh.
Another company which is registered provisionally is Megbela Infitel Cable & Broadband while other companies also received registrations for the state of Tamil Nadu. These companies include Kanthan Cable Network and Marthandam Cable Network. Sharp Video cables, Seema Cable Network and Noel Cable Network, on the other hand, received registrations for the state of Tamil Nadu, Odisha and Bihar, while India Digital Network received temporary registration for the states on Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.
