Miabox in Ivory Coast set to launch its VOD service


The Ivory Coast is getting ready to experience a new Video-on-demand (VOD) services.  Miabox has launched its pre-orders for VOD and online TV. The commercialization of the services is set to start between 1st June and 1st July 2016.


Miabox boost being the leader in online TV and VoD market in Ivory Coast. Miabox started its activities with an offer that provides 50 TV channels, including 25 Africans channels. The new VoD will give access to 5000 hours of movies and series with a diversified catalogue comprising of African productions (Nigerian, Ivorian, Ghanaian, South African and Kenyan), telenovelas, as well as American and French movies.


Miabox’s service will be available on its website, mobile apps, and on mobile operators’ platforms. By deploying this service, the company intends to cover many African nations and European countries that focus on African diaspora. However, Miabox will be competing with the French start-up Summview who, since March 2015, offers a TV/Video on Demand service in partnership with MTN. Canal+ also entered this market in the country.
