Mexico’s third FTA network to start broadcasting October 17

The third national FTA network in Mexico will begin operations next October 17 under the name Imagen Televisión. It will be available through the channel 3.

The new network belongs to Grupo Imagen Multimedia, which in March last year won the auction process to operate 123 stations across the country. The date of the launch was confirmed by the company.

According to El Financiero Newspaper, among the executives of the channel is Ciro Gómez Leyva, who will act as News Director, and Javier Alarcón, and who will be in charge of the Sports division, after working for several years in Televisa.

Last September, the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) confirmed that the new network will broadcast in channel 3. Imagen Televisión will break with years of duopoly of Televisa and TV Azteca.
