M-Net, the subscription-based television channel broadcast in South Africa, has signed an agreement with STUDIOCANAL, the French film production and distribution company and a unit of Canal+ Group. M-Net will now be screening two TV series from STUDIOCANAL, ‘The Five’ and ‘Midnight Sun’.
The last-mentioned title is a Swedish/ French drama which is co-produced by Canal+, SVT and Filmpool Nord. It will kick-start on 58 territories across Africa and each episode lasts for one hour. The series is a thriller featuring Leïla Bekhti and Gustaf Hammarsten, the story is all about Kahina a French police officer who travels to Kiruna for the investigation of a brutal murder of a French citizen.
Also included in the deal, is ‘The Five’ which is a British crime drama television series. It consists of 10 episodes and involves four childhood friends who re-unites after DNA evidence left at a murder scene.
