Mexican soccer team Lobos BUAP decided to follow the example of Chivas TV and announced the launch of Lobos TV, a new site to live stream its matches, since the team has not yet closed any TV deal. Alfonso Esparza, rector of BUAP (Benemérita Autonomous University of Puebla) said that this project is temporary and negotiations with the television stations are still ongoing.
The new online platform will be available free of charge and will show its firt match next Saturday (Lobos vs Morelia). Lobos recently moved up to Mexico’s First División. The first three matches in the Torneo Apertura of Liga MX, which began in July, were not televised.
Esparza admitted that the transmissions of Lobos TV could have failures as it happened to Chivas TV. “We are exposed to that, I cannot guarantee a perfect transmission, but the important thing is that it is a first step for the fans to watch Lobos matches,” said the executive, according to Diario Cambio.
