LN+ now available on Argentina’s DTT platform

News channel LN +, which belongs to the Argentine newspaper La Nación, began broadcasting on the DTT platform this week, using channel 25.3.

LN + is available on the terrestrial platform and also on digital satellite TV service, which uses the Arsat 1 satellite, at the DTT mux for Buenos Aires. Channel 25.3 was previously used by Telesur, the news channel that was removed from the platform.

LN + was launched in November 2016 through Cablevisión and DirecTV, the country’s largest pay TV operators. The channel is also available on Internet. Last April, the National Entity of Communications (Enacom) of Argentina issued a resolution through which it established that pay TV operators are obliged to offer the channel at the national level.

In October last year, La Nación Audiovisual Content Manager Ernesto Martelli said NexTV News Latam that they were analyzing the possibility of offering the channel through DTT, although at that moment they were “focused on pay TV distribution.

Martelli will participate in the next edition of NexTV Series South America, the leading conference organized by Dataxis to be held on June 14 and 15 at the Alvear Palace Hotel in the city of Buenos Aires.
