Kwesé to enter bidding competition for CHAN broadcasts rights

Kwesé Free Sports, the FTA TV channel declared their will to be the exclusive broadcaster of the 2018 Total African Nations Championship held in Kenya.  By doing so the Econet owned TV channel will compete with SuperSport the South African based channel group owned by Naspers.

Up until now this tournament has been the private garden of the Pay-TV channel SuperSport. To recall, early April, SuperSport has officially terminated its contract with the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) to air its matches over what it terms as breach of license agreement entered into by the parties.

On the other hand, Kwesé has been moving forward in its agenda to control sport diffusion in Africa since the channel has already claimed ownership for Major sport league such as NBA, English Premier League and FIFA World Cup in Russia.
