The SABC will be allowed to screen in South Africa while StarTimes will take care of the territories of sub-Saharan Africa, excluding South Africa.

Further, CANAL+ will treat its users in all territories of sub-Saharan Africa as well, except in South Africa and Nigeria while SuperSport (available on DStv and GOtv) will be broadcasting the tournament across the sub-Saharan Africa.

Gideon Khobane, the Chief Executive at SuperSport, commented about the deal: “Soccer is among the jewels in the SuperSport crown. We have long enjoyed the thrills of the World Cup and FIFA’s other properties and this new arrangement prolongs what has become a great partnership”.
