In Ivory Coast, Sidi Tiémoko Touré (photo), the Minister of Communication launched, on August 8, the construction work of the national network of digital terrestrial television (DTT). The event took place in the building from which Ivorian Broadcasting Radio (RTI) was broadcasting in Abobo.

”I’m happy to start the work. He is pleased to see that there is a certain dynamic in relation to TNT, which the State of Côte d’Ivoire can only support, “said Minister Sidi Tiémoko Touré. He announced that new signals would be issued before December 2018. It should be recalled that after a first pilot phase, completed in June 2015, about 25% of the Ivorian population has access to DTT.

The migration will cost about 22 billion CFA francs to the Ivorian authorities. Its implementation was entrusted to a consortium of three companies from the United States, South Africa and Côte d’Ivoire, after a call for tenders.
