India´s newly formed MSO group Tamil Nadu Cable Communications (TCCL) has officially launched their digital cable TV services in the metro city Chennai. The group is being supported by 600 cable operators which is 90% of the city cable operators and targets to complete digitization in the entire city by mid of May. Other players with DAS license in Chennai includes KAL Cable, Jak Communication and Adhar vision.

Owing to confusions in issuing DAS licenses for the state-owned Arasu cable, the cable operator´s in Tamil Nadu have formed their own forum , TCCL. TCCL has selected Verimatrix, a multi-network multi-screen digital TV secure solution provider´s Video Content Authority System (VCAS) for their digital TV services.
