The Indian Space Research Organisation plans to send off three telecommunications satellites this year in order to improve the transponders to boost DTH signal and consequently the industry.

The Indian DoS originally announced the launch of 14 satellites in dedicated to 4 tasks: increase the transponder capacity, create the new VSAT system as well as Ka-band system and finally building high power satellite mobile communication.

But only seven have been send-off which not enough to sustain the industry so far. These three-new satellites will act as a band aid in order to wait for the full fleet to be deployed.
