INBA accuses Republic TVs to use dual slot

Indian News Broadcast association (INBA) has filed a complaint against Arnab Goswami’s Republic TV to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) accusing the newly MSO licenced channel to use dual slots on cable TV to boost viewership.

This technique is nothing new it has been used countless time before in order to drive up their rating. India Today television has beaten Times Now and claimed 1st place of the BARC ratings in 2015 due to the dual network technique.

Times Network accused TV 18 to have adopted an unethical way of doing business by replacing its feed with CNBC TV 18’s giving it better rating than usual.

In 2016 BARC clarified that if multi feed was to be used the ratings would read these as one feed as long as the watermark remains the same
