The Malaysian-based subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) platform, Iflix, is making its way in the Middle Eastern country, Kuwait. A joint venture has been established between the Asian SVOD service and Zain Group, the mobile communications company in Kuwait. The service to be available for the Middle East North African subscribers will be entitled, Iflix Arabia.
The commercial launch will however be established in the second quarter of 2017 in seven countries including Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Sudan. Offering movies and TV from studios like MGM, Disney, Warner Bros and Sony Pictures and broadcasters like the BBC, Iflix Arabia will be based in Dubai. Subtitles will be in Arabic and English and the company revealed its plan about the launching of exclusive Arabic series in the near future.
Scott Gegenheimer, the CEO of Zain group shared his thoughts: “What distinguishes Iflix is its constant innovation and commitment to offering its customers an exceptional and entertaining digital experience, which is at the heart of what Zain stands for”.
He further added: “We look forward to bringing our 47M customers and regional mobile operations into the Iflix footprint”.

Once subscribed, users will be able to access the service via phones, laptops, tablets, and TV sets.
