Hop! Media Group, the media company producing, distributing and acquiring content across multiple platforms, has introduced a kids’ channel, WIZ. The new channel will be both an educational and entertainment one, targeting an age group of six to eleven years and will be available on YES satellite platform in Israel.
WIZ will provide non-fiction content as well as animation and live-action drama and series from important international channels will be offered. Children will be able to learn their lessons revolving around topics such as science, geography, history and art, in an enjoyable way.
Commenting about the launch, Alona Abt, the founder and co-CEO of Hop! Media Group, said: “We are happy to provide a safe haven for children that grew up on our channels and are now preteens. WIZ stemmed from our vision of creating quality media experiences that are both enjoyable and educating, with content that appeals to both children and parents”.
On the other hand, Michal Butel, the deputy CEO of Hop! Media Group, added: “Combining the leading trends of current media consumption among kids, WIZ brings the right blend of nonfiction content together with animation and live-action drama. WIZ, with its carefully selected content, will offer an enjoyable viewing experience that is challenging and thought-provoking, while providing a wonderful opportunity for quality family time”.
Elsewhere, Sharon Moverman, the director of acquisitions at Hop! Media Group,said: “We are in search for cutting- edge content, including short-form content, on top of classic traditional half-hour formats. Our wish list includes content that can introduce children to the glory of nature, the variety of cultures, and the mysteries and achievements in science and art”.
