After HBO announced on March 20th that its OTT HBO Go is available on LG’s Smart TVs, the company reported that since last Monday, HBO Go customers will be able to access the HBO content catalog directly on Samsung Smart TVsthroughout Latin America and the Caribbean. The offer is available for Tizen technology models, launched from 2016.
‘With this release, now any subscriber can enjoy our catalog with just one click from the TV remote control. We are constantly evaluating new options to adopt different content distribution platforms, and this will give our subscribers another access point to watch HBO at their convenience, anytime and anywhere’, said Francisco Smith, HBO Latin America Distribution and Media Development’s President.
Edgar Kato, Senior TV Manager for Samsung Electronics Latin America, said that ‘TV is still the main platform for watching content, and now we expand our services in partnership with HBO’. In addition, he expressed that, while Samsung Smart TVs offer the best display technology and VOD content, ‘the most important success indicators will always be the TV ease of use and TV experience optimization, all perfectly integrated’.
HBO Go’s catalog includes exclusive content from the cable channel, more than 2,500 titles -including original series, films, documentaries and HBO specials, premieres from Hollywood and an extensive range of children’s films, in addition to international and independent movies.
Gonzalo Stemberg, HBO’s Relations with Affiliates Senior Regional Director, will participate in the Nextv Series Argentina event, developed by Dataxis, which will take place at the Intercontinental Hotel in Buenos Aires on May 14th and 15th.
