Globosat releases online channel to celebrate its 25th anniversary

Brazilian TV programmer Globosat (Globo) celebrated its 25th anniversary on November 11 with the launch of a new internet channel, called Globosat 25 Years, offering special programming open to all users through the TV Everywhere platform Globosat Play.

The new initiative brings a series of historic shows from GNT, Multishow and SporTV. The channel may also be watched by NET (on Now VOD platform) Oi and Vivo subscribers.

In addition to ‘Globosat 25 Years’, a commemorative logo and the slogan ‘The future connects us’ were released, the company said in a press release.

Globosat is Brazil’s biggest audiovisual content provider. The company’s operation started on 11 November 1991, with the simultaneous launch of 4 subscription channels for the first time ever in Brazilian TV history – GNT, Multishow, Telecine and Top Sport (which in 1994 started being called SporTV).

The portfolio includes 32 channels, 22 of them transmitting in HD, 8 in PPV, 1 international channel for football aficionados living abroad, in addition to 8 on demand content services.
