Globosat Play reached 2.6 million registered users

Brazilian TV Everywhere platform Globosat Play is celebrating three years old in June with numbers that, according to the company, “confirm the success among pay TV subscribers.” The service already has 2.6 million registered users, 4.5 million app downloads and more than 60 million hours viewed.

Globosat said in a statement the platform features 11,000 hours of live and on-demand content per month, and 85% of the shows are locally produced. In 2016, the service grew 220% compared to the previous year.

47% of consumption occurs from Monday to Friday from 9AM to 6PM and men represent 65% of users. The TV channel Viva is the leader in the number of hours consumed in VOD. In 2016 it recorded 2.6 million hours of soap operas. In turn, Globosat explained that this year, 28 TV shows reached the play option before its TV premiere.

 

Globosat Play encompasses 16 TV channels of the media company (GNT, SporTV, Multishow, Mais Globosat, GloboNews, Canal Brasil, VIVA, Gloob, Bis, Off, Universal Channel, Universal Studio, Syfy and Megapix).
