Globo launches new eSports platform in 2020

Brazilian Grupo Globo announced the launch of Player1, its new eSports platform, scheduled for next year. The announcement was made this week during the GG eSports Summit, in San Pablo. The platform will feature daily tournaments, monthly rankings and special local and international competitions. Users can even win prizes by playing their favorite games.

Some of the online games available in Player1 are League of Legends, Fortnite, FIFA 2020, Call of Duty, PES 2020 and Rocket League, among others. The platform hosts games for PC, mobile, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. The complete catalog is available here

Globo already organizes eSports competitions, such as the Jogos Escolares Eletrônicos (JEE) and TUES (Torneio Universitário de eSports). The organization and management of user participation in non-professional games and competitions available in Player1 are in charge of Globo and Mediapro.
