Ghana introduces STB verification standards

Ghana’s communications regulator, National Communication Authority (NCA), has introduced a standard quality for the set-top boxes (STB) needed for the digital migration.

NCA has published the standards of the “conformance regime” and had established test laboratories to verify the quality of all set-top boxes in the market to ensure consumers are buying the correct device.

In October, Ghana’s Minister for Communications, urged the television broadcasting stations to accelerate their digital migration process to meet the country’s switchover deadline by 31 December, 2014.
