Ghana FC cancels football agreement with StarTimes

The Ghana Football Federation (GFA) has withdrawn a $ 17.9 million deal to get its games covered by the pay-tv operator StarTimes Group.Instead, GFA invited broadcasters and media organisations to make new offers for television and radio rights, with the deadline for submission being 10 December.

The GFA offer on the table includes its own Premier League, National Division 1 games, the MTN FA Cup as well as the Women’s League and Ghana Juvenile League, and will last 10 years.

One of GFA’s problems with StarTimes was the media group’s contractual promise to fund and build 10 new locations across the country, which did not happen.
