Tigo Senegal has launched its services under the Free brand. The portfolio under Free will include mobile plans targeting both the consumer and B2B segments, alongside mobile money services.
The range of mobile plans will start at $1.50 for the Pack Gaindé, which will include 30 call minutes and 2 GB of data with unlimited access to WhatsApp (30-day validity).
For $2.50, customers can opt for 180 call minutes, alongside the same data allowance as the Pack Gaindé, while a third plan priced $10.00 will include 800 call minutes and 20 GB of data, also with unlimited access to WhatsApp. Additionally, Free will offer a $16.70 plan targeting travellers, offering a roaming allowance valid in four countries (France, Ireland, Switzerland, and Italy).
Tigo Senegal was sold by Millicom to the Saga Africa Holdings consortium last year. One of the three new owners is Iliad founder Xavier Niel, through his NJJ private holding company. Niel’s two partners are Teyliom Group, owned by Senegalese entrepreneur Yerim Sow, and Sofima, the telecom investment vehicle of Axian Group (controlled by the Hiridjee family).
