FOX, Turner deny DTT soccer retrans rights

FOX Networks Group (FNG) and Turner, owners of the Argentine soccer TV rights, said in a joint statement that the TDA (the Digital TV platform) is not authorized to broadcast the Superliga (name of the first division tournament) matches.

The clarification come after the President of the state-owned telecom company Arsat, Rodrigo de Loredo, said in a TV interview this week that the “TDA will broadcast the tournament for about three or four months more”. The games of the first date of the Superliga were available on DTT channels Tateti and Arpeggio.

In their statement, the companies said that “the matches of the First Division of the Argentine Soccer Superliga (SAF) will continue to be offered exclusively through their own TV, channels FOX Sports Premium and TNT Sports (both in Full HD) , and for limited-time, by FOX Sports 2 and TNT (both in standard definition).”
