Fox pulls channels from Sky Brasil

Fox Networks Group (FNG) Latin America decided to remove its channels from Sky Brasil’s platform on Sunday, February 5, after not reaching a new carriage deal.

In a statement, FNG announced that after several months of negotiations to keep the distribution of channels Fox, FX, National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild, Fox Life, Fox Sports and Fox Sports 2 on Sky’s platform, the company could not reach an agreement.

According to the company, the conditions offered by Sky “are below market values. FNG Latin America apologizes to its fans for this situation and guarantees that it will always be open to dialog, and will do its utmost to guarantee fans have access to their favorite shows.”  Meanwhile, Fox and DirecTV Latin America are still in negotiations for the rest of the markets in the region.

Sky has already replace Fox channels. Discovery Civilitizion, Discovery Science, ESPN Extra, ESPN+, Discovery Turbo y Discovery Theater, are now available on the operator’s SD service, while in HD clients now have access to Discovery Civilization HD, Discovery Science, ESPN Extra, TLC HD, Investigação Discovery and Animal Planet HD.
