The media giant Fox Network is launching three channels in the Middle East region, including the first Fox branded Arabic language channel. The media company already has 12 channels lined up for the region.

The new channels will get viewers to enjoy a lifestyle channel called Fox Life, a crime thriller channel called Fox Crime and the Arabic-language Rewayat channel. Rewayat, which means “stories” in Arabic, will show dramas from Latin America, Asia and Europe that have been dubbed in Arabic.

The international subsidiary of 21st Century Fox, Fox Network Group, will create original content for the Middle East channels. The UAE-based Etisalat network providing mobile and television services will be the sole provider of the new Fox channels across the region.

According to Sanjay Raina, General Manager of Fox Network Group, the Middle East region has huge potential for pre-paid TV channels. “We’re standing in a beautiful environment where we are just waiting for this growth,” he said.
