Fox launches SVOD service in Brazil

Fox announced the launch in Brazil of Fox+, the SVOD service that includes access to the group’s 11 channels with content such as Premium series and live sporting events, without a pay TV subscription. The price of the monthly subscription will be R$34.90 (USD 10.5).
The company said in a statement that initially, users will be able to subscribe to the service through broadband providers and mobile operators, starting this month. Then, it will also be available in iOS and Android digital stores, local media reported. Fox+ will be available on smartphones, Smart TVs, computers and video game consoles.
The app will live-stream the games of the World Cup in Russia, through Fox Sports network. The library also includes original productions such as “1 Contra Todos”, “Rio Heroes”, “Me Chama de Bruna” and “Ouro Branco” (the latter will be released during the second semester). The service also offers access to the 11 Fox Networks channels in Brazil: Fox, Fox Life, FX, Fox Premium 1, Fox Premium 2, Fox Sports, Fox Sports 2, National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo Kids and Baby TV.
The launch in Brazil comes after the arrival of the service to the Mexican market, where they already have 200,000 users, of which 120,000 are paid accounts and 80,000 are still in free trial period, revealed Carlos Martínez, president of Fox Networks Latin America, according to Veja.
The expansion of OTT services will be one of the topics that will be addressed in the next edition of NexTV Series Argentina, the leading event organized by Dataxis, which will be held on May 16 and 17 in Buenos Aires.
