Fashion Television to introduce Farsi-dedicated channel

Fashion Television, owned by US-based Fashion One, will be bringing a dedicated Farsi (persian-language) channel. It is a new linear satellite channel to be broadcasted in the Middle East, including Iran. The channel will be accessible around the clock.

License has been granted to Fashion One to screen a global television network which will be dedicated to a Farsi audience. The channel will focus on the local fashionable and stylish audiences. Content will revolve around fashion, entertainment, lifestyle news and events. The channel’s schedule will consist of original programmes, designers, stylists and models from the region.

Gleb Livshitz, Chief Operation Officer of Fashion Television, commented: “With Farsi being one of the important languages in the region, the channel will fully localised in Farsi to cater to the local audience”.

Further, he said that: “For years, we have received a significant amount of feedback from Iranians living in the MENA region about our English language channel FASHION ONE while it was broadcasting Free-to-Air on Hotbird. Fashion One ended its broadcast Free-to-Air as a move to an all Pay TV channel”.
