Exset´s DMS to reach Indian Cable Operators

Exset , a leading CAS , middleware service provider launched in India its Digital Monetisation System(DMS) for cable operators. Exset also plans to provide STB’s in the price range of $12 to $ 22 embedded with value added services. The STB is proposed to have an “India Page” through which subscriber will be offered a bouquet of services. Exset says that cable operators would get USD 93,671 instead of USD 9,006 for a subscriber base of one lakh besides their broadcasting revenue.

“My Area” is one of their enthralling service through which a TV user can find location based information such as schools and shops nearby. Users can also surf from a television instead of internet enabled devices. This ad-on page comes with a built-in area for ads which could fetch additional revenue for the cable operators. Exset proposes to share a ‘symbolic relationship’ with cable operators through this ad revenue share model.

“We feel that this concept, driven by our technology will penetrate new markets and convert existing ones,” said Rahul Nehra, Global Head of Sales and Marketing, Exset. Cable operators present during the launch hoping for a new source of revenue reacted positively for this B2B initiative.
