French news channel Euronews (Media Globe Networks) announced through a press release that has reached five distribution agreements with pay TV operators Cablecom and Telecable (both owned by Televisa Group) in Mexico; TV Alphaville (Santos Group) and TV A Cabo in Brazil, and Gigared (Gigacable) in Argentina.

With this territorial expansion, Euronews now reaches 32.2 million households in Latin America with versions in Spanish, Portuguese and English. The news channel will also be broadcast by Claro TV (America Movil) in Brazil during the coverage of the Olympic Games.

“Latin America is a growing market opportunity for Euronews. We are proud to strengthen our presence by our Spanish, Portuguese and English services. Thanks to new agreements with important operators from Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, now 32.2 million viewers in South America receive Euronews. Our increasing audience and reputation in Latin America enable Euronews to be broadcast during one of the most important sports events of the year, Rio Olympic Games”, stated Euronews’ Worldwide Distribution Director, Arnaud Verlhac.
