Ethiopia to launch its Satellite Television Transmission Platform

The Information Network Security Agency of Ethiopia (INSA) went deep into space for the first time with the launch of their own civil satellite to serve public and media.

Major General Teklebirhan Wolde-Aregay the INSA Director named the new satellite “Ethiosat”. This is the first major step for the country in order to get its economic independence from  foreign platform.

In Ethiopia there is 12 to 20 channels that uses Satellites in order to transmit their signal, they will now be able to use the domestic platform.

It is not only a technological tour de force for the country but a new step toward digitalisation in the country.
