It has been revealed. Zee network, the Indian media and entertainment company, and Eros International Media Limited, the Indian motion picture production and distribution company in Mumbai, have sealed the deal. Eros’ new and catalogue movies, chosen from the latter’s large repertoire of films including a few forthcoming ones, will be exclusive to Zee network according to the licensing pact.
Eros’ smashits catalogue films such as Cocktail, Omakara, Heyy Babyy, Vicky Donor, Housefull, to mention just a few, will be available to Zee’s channels. In addition, some of the upcoming films of Eros International will also be available. These consist of Banjo, to be released in September featuring Riteish Deshmukh and Nargis Fakhri, Nil Battey Sannata (critically acclaimed Indian comedy drama, released in April) and the Indian biographical drama film, Aligarh released in February, which features Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao.
“This deal signifies yet another step towards cementing our long association with Zee Network. We continue to exploit our significant library and the content licensing deal with Zee is consistent with our pre-sales strategy. These tailor made packages from our broad film repertoire will suit audiences across networks and maximize the potential from the television broadcast”, said Sunil Lulla, the managing director at Eros International Media Limited.
