The General Superintendency of Electricity and Telecommunications (Siget) of El Salvador, signed an agreement with the government of Japan to promote the transfer of knowledge for the development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and to promote the implementation of Digital television (DTT) in the country.

The agreement establishes the transfer of technology for the implementation of DTT under the ISDB-T standard, which El Salvador adopted last January. In June, Japanese experts will offer training seminars oriented to the staff that will be in charge of the migration process.

Siget’s head, Blanca Coto, stated that “Japan is the leader in the service of technologies worldwide, hence the importance of this agreement in relation to the implementation of technical training programs as well as training seminars for the transition”.
