Ecuador’s soccer teams live-stream their matches on YouTube

Due to the legal conflict over the TV rights, Ecuadorian teams Liga de Quito, Barcelona and Emelec decided to live stream their matches for the recent date of the local tournament on their YouTube channels.
The match between Barcelona and El Nacional was available on the YouTube channel BSCtv and was produced by Digital Plus. According to El Comercio newspaper, Barcelona SC registered 533,279 total views. In turn, the YouTube channel of La Liga de Quito (which played against Técnico Universitario) reached 65,418 views and the match between Emelec and Deportivo Cuenca recorded 77,298.
Meanwhile, the clubs seek to recover the TV rights to start negotiating directly with pay TV operators. Once the creation of the Professional Soccer League is completed (this project awaits approval by the Ministry of Sport) the rights will be negotiated collectively again. Currently, the Ecuadorian championship is not available on any pay TV channel due to the suspension of the contract between the Ecuadorian Soccer Federation (FEF) and GolTV.
