Econet Media, the entertainment services subsidiary of Econet Wireless, strikes the deal with FremantleMedia International (FMI), for its pay-TV network, Kwesé TV. More than 300 hours of programming from the FMI catalog will be accessible to Kwesé customers.
Several titles like ‘The Lie Detective’, ‘Jo Frost: Nanny on Tour’, ‘Project Runway: Fashion Startup’, season one of the U.S. game show ‘Match Game’ and season 14 of the U.S. version of ‘Family Feud’, will be offered. ‘I Am, My Brain and Me’, ‘The Cars That Made Us’ and ‘Soundbreaking’ from FMI, are the factual entertainment that Kwesé audience will be able to enjoy. Kwesé TV also licensed a number of scripted series from FMI for the region, including the supernatural drama series ‘The Returned’ and the biopic ‘Mary: Making of a Princess’.
Anahita Kheder, the senior VP for the Middle East, Africa and Southeastern Europe at FremantleMedia International, said: “This deal highlights the scale of our library, and our ability to deliver a wide-ranging slate of shows to a diverse audience.
