In Burkina Faso, the migration to digital TV could be effective by the end of January 2018. This was revealed by Remis Fulgance Dandjinou (photo), the Burkinabe Minister of Communication, invited on October 28 to “Direct Antenna” broadcast of Burkina Faso broadcasting.
Faced with journalists from public radio, the minister first explained the reasons for the delay in the launch of digital terrestrial television (DTT), originally scheduled for September 30 last. According to Mr. Dandjinou, the delay is due to the lengthy clearance procedures for the necessary equipment, the electricity problems on the sites to be relayed to the airwaves and the negotiations for the financing of migration by banker establishments.
Nevertheless, the Minister of Communication assured that all installation work of DTT would be completed by the end of January 2018 and that the decoders, would then be available at a maximum cost of 10 000 F CFA
