DStv’s channels are treating their viewers with new shows and programs. Africa Magic Showcase is airing ‘Flatmates’ on DStv channel 151 with rebroadcast and ‘Jemeji’ on the same channel during weekdays. BET (DStv channel number 129) will be telecasting ‘MTV Shuga: Down South’.

‘Flatmates’ is a sitcom which revolves around four young men living together in a flat featuring comedians like Basketmouth and Buchi, among others. The other show, is a telenovela, involving a young medical doctor whose life turn into a nightmare upon learning family and friends’ secrets when he came back home after studies abroad.

‘MTV Shuga: Down South’ is a drama series from MTV Staying Alive Foundation and MTV Base (24hr music and GEC from Viacom International Media Networks Europe), consisting of 12 episodes which uses drama to promulgate important public health messages. This includes social issues concerning adolescents in South Africa and their vulnerability towards unintended pregnancy and HIV protection, among others.
