Discovery adds Food Network to its Latam portfolio

Discovery Networks Latin America/US Hispanic (DLA/USH) announced that Food Network, as well as outstanding programming from the recently acquired Scripps Networks Interactive (SNI), are now part of Discovery’s portfolio in the region.
This way, DLA/USH’s portfolio now includes 12 networks: Discovery Channel, Discovery Kids, Discovery Home & Health, Animal Planet, TLC, ID, Food Network, Discovery Turbo, Discovery Science, Discovery Civilization, Discovery Theater HD and Discovery World HD.
Discovery announced the acquisition of Scripps, for USD 11.9 billion, in July last year. The operation was completed in March 2018. Food Network now strengthens the group’s lifestyle offerings, which includes Discovery Home & Health and TLC.
“Food Network joins a portfolio of leading networks in the factual, lifestyle and preschool genres, and gives us the opportunity to offer our affiliate partners and advertisers the possibility of reaching highly coveted audiences through a robust offer of networks that reach different genres,” said Fernando Medin, President and CEO of Discovery Networks Latin America/US Hispanic.
