DirecTV to premiere original series in 4K

DirecTV announced that it will premiere the new original series “Todo por el juego” on July 15 through OnDirecTV, as well as on its 4K UHD channel and the streaming platform DirecTV Play. The thriller, produced by the operator together with Mediapro, will have eight episodes of 50 minutes each.
The series is based on the novel “El fútbol no es así” written by the president of Spain’s professional football league, Javier Tebas, together with Pedro Torrens. The story will revolve around bets, corruption, mafias and many more themes set in the world of soccer. “Todo por el juego” was directed by Daniel Calparsoro (“El Aviso”, “Cien años de perdón”, “A ciegas”, “El castigo”) and was written by Eduardo Sacheri (“El secreto de sus ojos”).
“We are very excited about the premiere of the series right after the most important soccer event of the year. At DirecTV we are passionate about sports and this production is an ideal complement for our subscribers, we seek to provide premium and exclusive content anytime and anywhere,” said Willard Tressel, general manager for OnDirecTV channel.
The 4K UHD service is available in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay. The subscribers need to have the operator’s 4K UHD set-top box and a TV set with this technology.
