DirecTV, Puntonet sign deal in Ecuador

DirecTV Ecuador and Puntonet have signed an agreement to offer broadband (FTTH) and pay TV, initially in Quito and Guayaquil. The deal was approved by the Telecommunications Regulation and Control Agency (Arcotel).
This way, the commercial teams of both companies will be able to offer a bundle with both services. Among the benefits for new customers is the free installation of both services and 1 year with a 20% discount on the two products and plans selected by the subscriber.
Puntonet was born in 2000 “in response to the demand of Ecuadorians for a fast and reliable Internet service,” according to the company’s website. Puntonet offers its fiber to the home service through the Celerity brand.
