DAZN is officially launched in Brazil

The OTT DAZN was officially launched in Brazil and extended its sports broadcasting global reach to nine markets. Previously, the brand was already operating in Germany, Austria, Canada, Spain, the US, Italy, Japan and Switzerland. Brazil is the first Latin American country were it will start its operations, which will be led by Bruno Rocha. The monthly subscription value in Brazil will be USD 9.5.

‘Going live in Brazil is the latest milestone in the DAZN journey, marking our ninth market across four continents’, said John Skipper, DAZN’s Executive Chairman.  The company has already acquired the rights to broadcast several football competitions, including matches from the South American Cup, Italian Serie A and French League 1. The company has recently added Brazilian Serie C football matches to its catalog.

The streaming platform’s initial offer will also bring the Italian Super Cup, the FA Cup and events from the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). The company has also partnered with Facebook to broadcast football matches exclusively for Brazilian fans. The EuroLeague, together with IndyCar and boxing competitions such as the Glory World Series and the Professional Fighters League, and also the Major League Soccer (MLS), the Japanese J1 League and the Africa Cup of Nations.

Bruno Rocha, who has recently been announced as DAZN’s Executive Vice President in Brazil, said that in the company they are ‘excited and committed to bringing the best possible content to our affordable and flexible service for Brazilian sport fans’. He also added that ‘the passion that Brazilians have for sport is second to none, so it makes perfect sense that we bring our sports streaming service to the country’. Finally, the Executive expressed that ‘football features heavily in our offering, and it’s our aim to overlay all kinds of premium sports to create an unrivalled offering. Ultimately, our goal is simple: to bring fans the best viewing experience with our intuitive platform, a varied premium sports portfolio at an affordable price’.
