Sony Pictures Television’s on-demand service Crackle has signed an agreement with Brazilian operator TVN, which operates in the south of the country.
TVN clients now have access to the content portfolio, which includes Hollywood movies and original productions. It is available for all plans in the cities of São Leopoldo, Canoas, Cachoeirinha, Sapucaia do Sul and Esteio. As part of the launch, the first 1,000 clients subscribing to the service will pay a promotional price of R$ 20.90 (USD 6.8). The original price is R$ 29.90 (USD 9.7).
Crackle changed its business model at the end of last year from a free, ad-supported service to an authenticated service offered by Pay TV operators. Under this new model, TVN’s agreement is one of the more than 25 agreements that Crackle has already signed with operators in the region, according to what VP and general manager José Rivera Font told NexTV News Latam last month.
TVN is a broadband and cable TV service operating in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, located in the south of Brazil.
