Crackle launches on TV Cable in Ecuador

Sony Pictures Television Networks has launched its authenticated SVOD service Crackle in Ecuador in partnership with TV Cable.

Through this agreement, clients of the operator will be able to subscribe to the streaming platform, which includes original series and a wide range of blockbuster movies from major Hollywood studios.

“Our agreement with TVCable confirms Crackle’s acceptance as an on-demand video programmer driven by operators’ interest in having a turnkey SVOD service with the best technology and some of the best premium content available on the market, said Jose Rivera Font, vice president and general manager of SPT Digital Networks Latin America.

Crackle was launched in early 2002 as an ad-supported service. However, in 2016 it changed its strategy and became an authenticated SVOD platform in partnership with operators. The company has already announced agreements with Mexico’s TotalPlay and with Brazil’s Oi.

In an interview with NexTV news Latam, published in February this year, Rivera Font mentioned that the company had 26 signed agreements with operators, which will be announced as companies launch the platform.
