The new edition of NexTV Series Colombia, on June 7 at the Convention Center of the Tequendama hotel in Bogotá, will gather executives from the main companies to discuss the future of TV and the streaming video offer.
In Colombia, Netflix is the leading SVOD service, followed by Claro Video and two other local services: Win Sports and Caracol Play. The expansion of these platforms -along with the Play services of the TV networks- proposes a scenario where traditional operators must integrate these offers and reformulate their strategy based on new consumption habits. Telefónica already took an important step towards that goal by announcing, just a few days ago, a global agreement to incorporate Netflix into its TV and video platforms.
For its part, Claro, the main pay TV operator in the Colombian market, complements its strategy with the streaming platform Claro Video, which also serves as a third-party ‘Play’ services integrator and also offers linear channels.
The telecommunications company ETB is also integrating ‘Play’ services. In fact, it was the first operator to add HBO GO as a ‘standalone’ service for its broadband users, in December 2015.
To analyze this scenario, the executive panel “How OTT Pay TV will change TV” will feature Katiuska Veliz, Marketing Manager of TV and Video at Telefónica; David Londoño, Corporate Marketing Director at Claro; Freddy Solano, Commercial VP at ETB and Ernesto Carreño, director of Classic Segment at DirecTV.
