CNN starts its Brazilian operations with provisional headquarters in San Pablo

CNN Brazil’s headquarters, located in Alameda Santos street, in parallel to the Paulista Avenue in San Pablo, are already opened. The team, which has 65 hired workers, will remain there on a temporary basis, while directors set up the final location. The company plans its Brazilian launch for the second half of the year and, according to what has been informed, CNN Brazil will be  a 24-hour news channel, available for pay TV customers and on digital platforms.

The company’s temporary headquarters will have professionals from the administrative, commercial and content areas, while it is also negotiating to set new offices in Brasilia and Rio de Janeiro. According to Douglas Tavolaro, CNN Brazil’s CEO, having physical headquarters in operation means an important step to inaugurate the channel. ‘It is essential to organize our teams and to propagate the brand’s basic points among professionals’, he said.

As agreed, the channel will be entitled to some CNN International assets, such as content and team training. However, the Brazilian network will have editorial freedom, and will not admit CNN International’s interventions. Advertising’s marketing will also be independent.
