In its Q1 2019 results report, the Chilean FTA TV channel Chilevision recorded losses valued at USD 1.85 million last March. The figure meant a more thar USD 5.6 million reduction compared to this year’s same period.
‘This has been the best quarter of the last Chilevision’s three years. We have achieved this through a content strategy that not only places the channel in the second place of the general rating, but also has allowed us to consolidate our prime time offer with programs such as Pasapalabra, La Divina Comida, Yo Soy and Podemos Tallar, in a context where turning on and pay TV are going down’, they said from Turner Chile.
According to the company, Chilevision went from recording USD 2.25 million losses in Q1 2018, to profits that exceed USD 3 million in this year’s same period. ‘The greatest change is shown in the national productions area, which represents 64% of the total. There, direct and indirect production costs decrease of the Viña del Mar Festival was significant and, to a lesser extent, the decrease in administration and sales expenses’, they indicated.
