Telefónica closer to multicast over 3G than DVB-HTelefónica más cerca de multicast por 3G que de DVB-H

<!--:en-->In Spain, Movistar has objected to DVB-H business model, which allows a broadcaster to build up and to operate a mobile broadcasting network and to resell such service in the wholesale market to mobile operators so that they render such services to final users. Telefónica bets on getting the frequency and building up and operating its own network; to such ends, the company is seeking guarantees. The new contest for this spectrum will be opened in 2008 in Spain.

Why Would AT&T Buy DVB-H Spectrum in USA?

<!--:en-->AT&T has paid USD 25 billion for the 12 Mhz-spectrum covering 281US cities, which had been acquired by Aloha Partners for the deployment of mobile TV based DVB-H services. However, AT&T is about to launch Qualcomm's MediaFLO system, which is already offered by Verizon. Such a high price makes analysts wonder whether the spectrum will be used to provide interactive services rather than mobile broadcast. There are still numerous unknowns. AT&T has been looked at as a technological model by a large number of operators in Latin America, so its mobile TV strategy still conceits great attention in this region.<!--:--><!--:es-->AT&T compró por US$ 25.000 millones los 12 Mhz de espectro en 281 ciudades de Estados Unidos que Aloha Partners había adquirido para desplegar servicios DVB-H de Tv móvil.
