Cartoon Network premieres Dragon Ball Super

Toei Animation’s “Dragon Ball Super” will debut on pay TV channel Cartoon Network in Latin America on Saturday, August 5, with a four-episode marathon. The expected sequel to “Dragon Ball Z”, after almost 20 years, had already been released in Japan, Europe and USA, and until now was only available in Latin America through OTT service Crunchyroll but only for paid subscribers.

“Dragon Ball Super” continues the the legend with an original story overseen by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama. The Spanish version for Latin America brings together the original cast of voices: Mario Castañeda (Goku), René García (Vegeta), José Luis Orozco (Bills) and Arturo Castañeda (Wiss), who return to represent their classic roles.

“The expectation for Dragon Ball in Latin America could not be greater, and we are very excited to move forward with our longtime partner, Cartoon Network Latin America, to introduce Dragon Ball Super throughout the region,” said Daniel Castaneda, Licensing Director for Toei Animation’s Latin American division.
